All I Hear Is Burn

An arrest warrant has been issued for a 60-year-old man who sent a malicious email to British MP, after he failed to appear in court over the matter.
Frank Zimmerman from Gloucester emailed Conservative MP Louise Mensch in August 2011 and told her to cease using Twitter or face the consequences. In April, he was convicted (in his absence) of sending by a public communication network an offensive, indecent, obscene, menacing message.

Derby & Joan

Julia Killhard, Posh Slice, Freyda Nuffin; they aren't characters from a James Bond film but monikers for members of a fast growing sport in WA known as roller derby.
In roller derby, each team has five members on the track with the jammers trying to make as many laps as they can, while the other team's blockers try and stop them.
The bout, with regular interchanges from the bench, goes for an hour with jams consisting of two minutes or less.

Denial

A Bahraini policewoman pleaded not guilty on Wednesday to charges of torturing a female journalist during last year's crackdown on anti-government protests, lawyers said.
The officer, Lieutenant Sara al-Musa, denied torturing Nazeeha Saeed, who is the Bahrain correspondent of France 24 and Radio Monte Carlo Doualiya, and was not in court, the lawyers said.
The hearing was adjourned to June 24 for further deliberation.
Musa is accused of torturing Saeed while the journalist was in custody on May 22 last year.
The prosecution said last month that it had referred the case to the "high criminal court because the defendant is a public servant in the ministry of interior and has used force against the victim to make her confess to a crime."

Little Bird

A drug-addicted prostitute with a history of stabbing people who was once described as “downright evil” should be sentenced to 14 years in prison for killing an Ottawa chef she had just met, a prosecutor argued Monday.
But Jennifer Bird’s lawyer, Jeff Langevin, argued his 28-year-old client should receive a further five year sentence for manslaughter, suggesting that stabbing-victim Simon Hubbard’s decision to bring a crack-addicted sex trade worker with a propensity for violence back to his apartment in the middle of the night carried some risk.
And while there was absolutely no evidence to suggest Hubbard had done anything to deserve his fate, Bird took the opportunity she was given to apologize to the family, and to suggest the deadly stabbing was a “horrible accident” and a fearful reaction brought on by a life lived in the sex trade.

Nicki Minaj Needs to Grow

Nikci Minaj doesn't make music for children unlike most artists. her music is for the mature urban person who lives in an urban setting. Very few women rappers have got to the top tier. Little Kim was probably the first. Nicki Minaj is the second.

Berlin

As Nagorski points out, Berlin was, during the interwar period, the most interesting and exciting city on Earth. A sublime and cutting-edge culture was combined with peculiar politics, skyrocketing inflation and a lot of kinky sex. The political drama was rendered all the more fascinating by the shenanigans of a clown called Hitler whom few observers took seriously. Americans were welcomed because they represented the New World, a state of aspiration for Germans. Given the inflation, American dollars were powerful, making the frolics these visitors could enjoy in this land of fantasy all the more intense.

This from a review of new book, Hitlerland.

This gives me a chance to say that Berlin was exciting before the National Socialists came to power. It was interesting afterwards to. I'm not sure it was ever a dull place. Nina Hagen came from Berlin..

Achievement

Lady Gaga has become the first living person to have 10 million followers on Facebook. Michael Jackson has more but he has died.

Cruel Maid

An HIV positive 17-year-maid from Masvingo in Zimbabwe was caught lacing the porridge of her employer's 4-year-old child with her own menstrual blood, cruelty that earned her a 10-year prison term,

Wow! That is surely surging up the charts of the cruelty of maids.

Randism

Ayn Rand was a Russian from a prosperous family who emigrated to the United States. Through her novels, such as Atlas Shrugged, and her non-fiction, such as The Virtue of Selfishness, she explained a philosophy she called Objectivism. This holds that the only moral course is pure self-interest. We owe nothing, she insists, to anyone, even to members of our own families. She described the poor and weak as refuse and parasites, and excoriated anyone seeking to assist them. Apart from the police, the courts and the armed forces, there should be no role for government: no social security, no public health or education, no public infrastructure or transport, no fire service, no regulations, no income tax.

I knew Ayn Rand was on someone's radar. I first came across her name with regard to the band Rush and their track Trees. I didn't know she was this radical. No-one wonder she is a pin-up to some people.
